Ishikawa's Frog

Ishikawa's Frog: (Odorrana ishikawae), is a species of frog in the Ranidae family that is endemic to Japan. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, and intermittent rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss. This form might be a complex of more than one species. Listed as Endangered because its Extent of Occurrence is less than 1,500km2, its distribution is severely fragmented, and there is continuing decline in its area of occupancy, in the extent and quality of its habitat, and in the number of mature individuals on Amamioshima and Okinawajima in Japan.  This species is endemic to the Ryukyu Islands of Japan, and is found only on Amamioshima and Okinawajima Islands.
